Event Details

The Western Fairfax Church Coalition began with a tragic drug overdose and death of a local teenage girl. Her High School Principal was seeking a large venue for her memorial service, and Centreville Presbyterian Church (CPC) agreed to open up their doors to this grieving family and over 300 friends. In response, Fairfax County leaders asked CPC to help find ways to proactively respond to the burgeoning heroin problem in our community. CPC and OneHeartDC connected and began recruiting a coalition of local churches to respond to this community need.

The Western Fairfax Church Coalition was born.

Currently, seven local churches are engaged in offering a The Thriving Family Summit on March 11 as a first step in bringing awareness, resources, and real hope to the most challenging issues plaguing our community. While planning this event, we have forged a unified commitment to support one another and to jointly serve our neighborhoods. We are better working together than alone! We welcome more church leaders to join us in this event, and in forging a vision beyond the Summit for being One Body.

The coalition currently meets for Summit planning at Centreville Presbyterian Church. We will establish a regular meeting schedule after the March 11 Summit.
